Casablanca Court Tries 17 in COVID Vaccine Pass Fraud Scheme

Since Thursday, 17 people have been brought before the judge at the court of first instance of Ain Sebaa in Casablanca. They are suspected of being involved in a case of falsification of vaccination passes for large sums of money.
The case dates back to late December when 8 individuals were arrested for alleged links to a criminal network operating in the manipulation of automated data processing systems, in order to obtain fake vaccination passes, reports Hespress, according to which the investigations made it possible to identify and prosecute 9 other individuals who had benefited from fake vaccination passes.
According to the police sources, the main accused, an auxiliary agent of the Aïn Al Barjah district in Hay Mohammadi, delivered to his "clients" who were not vaccinated the secret access codes to the database of vaccinated people that were provided to him by the services in charge of monitoring the epidemiological situation. A code that is automatically updated to record the data of people who wish to benefit from vaccination passes, after being vaccinated.
Trapped, he was caught in the act of falsification and trafficking, for 200, 400 to 2500 dirhams in exchange for obtaining the fake vaccination passes. Since Thursday, he has been answering for his actions before the judge with all his accomplices.
