Car Wash Prices Surge in Casablanca Amid Economic Pressures

In Casablanca, car washes have increased the price of their services for various reasons.
The small car wash service has gone from 30 dirhams to 40 dirhams, and from 40 dirhams to 50 dirhams for four-wheel drive cars, an increase of 10 dirhams. This increase is justified by several factors. In a statement to Aljarida24, professionals in the sector explained that the limitation of their activity to only 3 days a week in recent months has aggravated their debts, as it is difficult for them to pay water and electricity bills, salaries and rents. In addition, the price of most of the cleaning products used for car washing has increased. According to them, even the imposed increase will not cover most of the expenses. Professionals in the sector also assure that they have made this decision to avoid laying off employees.
To recall, the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, had taken a decision prohibiting the activity of public baths and car washing on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week, in order to rationalize water use.
