On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, King Mohammed VI pardoned several Senegalese supporters. These individuals had been convicted in Morocco for various offenses committed during matches of the Africa Cup of Nations.
This gesture of clemency was adopted for purely humanitarian considerations. It is based on the bonds of friendship, brotherhood and secular cooperation that unite the Kingdom and the Republic of Senegal. This decision also reflects the fundamental principles of tolerance, generosity and benevolence that characterize Moroccan identity, according to a statement.
