Bus Crash Near Agadir Kills 12, Injures 36 in Morocco’s "Death Curves"

A passenger bus, coming from Tan Tan, overturned on Tuesday morning in the "death curves" near Tamri, a commune located about 40 kilometers from Agadir. 12 people have died and about thirty passengers have been seriously injured.
48 passengers were on board the vehicle, which was making the Tan Tan-Casablanca trip via Essaouira, said Agadir24, stressing that the tragedy was caused by the driver’s lack of vigilance.
The initial report shows 12 dead and 36 seriously injured, 4 of whom were admitted to intensive care. The driver’s assistant, a miraculous survivor of the tragic accident, was apprehended by the Royal Gendarmerie services as he was trying to flee.
The civil protection ambulances transported the bodies of the deceased and the survivors to the Essaouira Hospital Center. For now, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
