Burqa-Clad Suspect Among Four in Failed Bank Heist Near Casablanca

In Berrechid, a bank branch was the victim of an attempted robbery last Thursday. The alleged thieves, a woman wearing a full veil and three other individuals, fled after passersby heard the branch manager cry for help.
In total, four hooded individuals burst into the agency located on Boulevard Mohammed V, in this agglomeration near Casablanca, reports Al Akhbar. After holding the security guard at bay, they headed towards the branch manager. She managed to rush out of the agency. As she cried for help, the four criminals, panicked, quickly got into a vehicle waiting in front of the agency and fled.
Alerted, the police arrived quickly on the scene. Elements of the regional brigade for the fight against organized crime under the Settat police prefecture also went to the scene to support them. Fingerprints were taken and the surveillance camera recordings, both at the entrance and inside the agency premises, as well as those installed in the street, in the neighborhood and which may have an exploitable viewing angle, were examined.
During the viewing of the images, they saw a woman, or supposed to be, wearing the full Islamic veil (niqab), accompanied by three men, "forcibly entering the agency. The woman, who turned out to be a man, stepped forward first so that the guard could open the door for her. Once the door was open, the three other accomplices burst into the agency, forcing, under threat, the security guard to let them through." Observing the scene from afar, the branch manager rushed out of the agency and called for help.
For now, the police are continuing their investigations in order to identify and arrest the alleged criminals.
