Brussels ’Campus Rapist’ Sentenced to Additional Year for 2017 Attack

Convicted of a new rape committed on a student, near a campus of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), on the night of September 28 to 29, 2017, Yassine B., a serial rapist already convicted, was sentenced to an additional one-year prison term by the Brussels Criminal Court.
New conviction for Yassine B., 45, found guilty on June 30, 2021 and sentenced to 12 years in prison for four rapes, four indecent assaults, with the aggravating circumstance of sequestration, and for threats with a knife, committed between July 2016 and November 2019. Based on DNA evidence, the Brussels Criminal Court imposed on him on Tuesday an additional one-year prison sentence for a new rape case, reports Belga. This is a rape committed on a student, near a campus of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), on the night of September 28 to 29, 2017.
According to the victim’s account, she crossed paths with the quadragenarian after a student party at the "Jefke" party hall on the ULB Plaine campus in Ixelles. Posing as a driver from the Collecto shared taxi service, wearing his STIB bus driver uniform, Yassine offered to drive her home in his car. The student was intoxicated. He takes advantage of this to sexually assault her.
