Travelers from Great Britain spent nearly £1.2 billion in Morocco in 2025. New official British statistics, published on October 16, also reveal their average budget, the length of their stays and a strong preference for package holidays.

Morocco outpaces Egypt and Tunisia
In the British market, Morocco outperformed two of its direct tourism competitors. Egypt recorded 1.13 million trips and £1.169 billion in spending, compared with 448,000 trips and £379 million for Tunisia. Turkey maintained a considerable lead, with 4.32 million trips and £3.8 billion in spending, according to the same ONS statistics.
Another distinctive feature of the Moroccan market is the dominance of package holidays. The ONS recorded 718,000 package trips to Morocco, accounting for 63% of holiday trips. Associated spending reached £760 million. The other 419,000 tourist trips were arranged in other ways.

Three airports accounted for nearly 70% of the trips: Gatwick, with 345,000 trips; Stansted, with 328,000; and Manchester, with 236,000. These figures illustrate the importance of the British market, supported by the development of air links between the United Kingdom and Morocco.
Visits to friends and relatives also accounted for 148,000 trips, £73 million in spending and nearly 1.56 million nights. Business travel totaled 16,000 trips and £16 million in spending.
