British Tourist Narrowly Avoids Fate of Murdered Hikers in Morocco

Just before the murder of the two Scandinavian tourists on December 17 near Imlil, a British tourist had been accosted by the terrorists and he owes his life only to the answer he gave them.
An hour before the death of the two tourists, a man had met the suspects to whom he replied that he was Muslim. "It is the suspects who provided this information to the police," says the head of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) Abdelhak Khiam, as reported by the newspaper The Sun. "We don’t know if he was actually a Muslim or if he was afraid of the guys with beards," Khiam said.
The two tourists, the Danish Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, and the Norwegian Maren Ueland, 28, had been killed on December 17 near Imlil, a mountainous area near Marrakech, by four individuals.
Since these murders, 23 people have been arrested as part of this investigation, including a Swiss national holding Spanish nationality and a Swiss-British national.
