British Investors Eye Major Renewable Energy Project in Morocco’s Dakhla Region

British investors are currently on a mission in Dakhla, looking for opportunities in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, particularly in the field of renewable energies.
"We are considering carrying out a major renewable energy project producing green hydrogen and ammonia in the southern provinces of Morocco," Brannan Tempest, CEO of the Oblin Group, a specialist in engineering, procurement and construction of photovoltaic solar and wind power systems, told L’Économiste at the head of the delegation of British investors.
For Tempest, the availability of wind and the abundance of sun are advantages for investing in this field in Dakhla. "We are ready to launch our project" which will create 5,000 jobs, he added. The manager also announced the establishment of a new green industrial zone for the benefit of manufacturers of photovoltaic solar panels and wind turbine blades.
The delegation started its mission on Tuesday with a meeting with Lamine Benomar, the wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab. On this occasion, the authority presented the investors with the new development dynamics underway in the region. The British investors also had a session with the president of the Regional Council of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, El Khattat Yanja, during which the significant progress made in the region was presented to them.
