Brazilian Foreign Minister to Visit Morocco in 2022, Aims to Strengthen Ties

The Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Alberto Franco França, announced that he will visit Morocco during the first half of 2022 in order to strengthen the cooperation ties between the two countries.
Morocco "now occupies a central position in North Africa as a bridge to other countries and continents," said the Brazilian minister to justify this trip.
Speaking at the ceremony to decorate the former Brazilian president, Fernando Affonso Collor de Mello, with the Grand Cordon of the Wissam Alaouite, Carlos França welcomed the quality of the relations between Morocco and Brazil, ties based on the defense of values common to their respective peoples.
For him, "the cooperation landscape should be strengthened not only in commercial terms, but also in the cultural field." "Bilateral relations are very harmonious and have great potential for development. I am optimistic about the future," he noted, adding that great opportunities exist to diversify and strengthen trade relations between the two countries. Cooperation between Brazil and Morocco could be even more complementary."
Within the United Nations and international bodies, "Brazil has recently been elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (for the period 2022-2023) and we can coordinate positions on the basis of our common values," which could benefit the interests of the two countries, he said.
This trip will be an opportunity for the two countries to deepen their exchanges on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, said Carlos França, recalling that he had "had the opportunity to discuss the issue with my Moroccan counterpart during our recent telephone exchange." "My planned visit to Morocco in the first half of 2022 will allow us to further examine this issue, among other topics of interest to the two countries," he said.
