New Book Highlights Challenges and Achievements of Moroccan Diaspora Worldwide

The fourth edition of the book, "Moroccans Abroad", was presented yesterday in Rabat by the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad.
The new edition aims to identify the changes and developments at the pace at which the Moroccan community is living all over the world, with a view to accompanying and supporting it in order to face the difficulties experienced in the host countries, reports the MAP.
The 736-page book contains 24 chapters. It deals with analyses, contextualized by country, by 22 authors, including 10 young researchers from the emigration. They address cross-cutting themes for all communities and which are related to recent developments in the Moroccan community abroad.
For the President of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad, Omar Azziman, the book provides an objective and more in-depth picture of Moroccans residing abroad, in particular from a demographic, cultural, religious and social point of view. It also highlights the evolution and dynamics of the situation of Moroccans abroad, which requires constant renewal. "They are increasingly present in the Moroccan institutional space and increasingly influential in Morocco as well as in their host country," he said.
This new edition has made it possible to explore aspects of Moroccan migration that have not yet been addressed in the previous series, said Mohamed Berriane, Professor at the University of Rabat. He said that the book emphasizes the changes in the Moroccan migration system, including new forms of mobility.
"It was agreed to ensure the renewal of the editorial team responsible for writing the 24 chapters, and the mobilization of 22 authors, 15 of whom had never participated in previous editions," he noted.
