Body of Murdered Moroccan Teen to be Repatriated as Suspect Detained in Spain

The Court of First Instance of Alcalá la Real (Jaén) has authorized the repatriation to Morocco of the body of Khawla E.Z, the Moroccan girl found dead on Tuesday in an abandoned church in the city. The author of the murder was placed in pre-trial detention on Friday.
The judge authorized the repatriation to Morocco of the body of the 14-year-old Moroccan minor killed by a 22-year-old man of Dominican origin last Tuesday in the municipality of Jaén. He also ordered the pre-trial detention without bail of the alleged murderer, who is being prosecuted for the alleged crimes of murder and sexual assault, reports Canal Sur.
After investigation, the police confirmed that the victim and her aggressor knew each other, but did not have a romantic relationship. As a result, the case will not be considered a case of gender-based violence. In addition, the autopsy revealed that asphyxiation was the cause of death.
On his arrival at the Alcalá la Real court on Friday, the alleged perpetrator was booed by the victim’s relatives demanding justice. During his interrogation, the accused chose not to testify. However, three minors, friends of the victim, and another witness appeared. After an eight-hour hearing, the judge ordered his placement in pre-trial detention.
