Body of Moroccan Migrant Killed by Algerian Navy Repatriated After Months of Delay

The repatriation of the body of the Moroccan migrant Fouzia Bekouch, killed during an anti-immigrant operation by the Algerian navy, is now effective.
Fouzia Bekouch was killed by gunfire in the night of Friday to Saturday, October 22, during an anti-migrant operation by the Algerian navy. Her remains, which were to be repatriated to Morocco on January 21 according to the Nador section of the Moroccan Association of Human Rights (AMDH), finally arrived in the kingdom on the evening of January 26.
In a statement to H24info, Omar Naji, a member of the Nador section of the Moroccan Association of Human Rights (AMDH), said that the Zouj Bghal border post, known as Colonel Lotfi on the Algerian side, "was exceptionally opened last Thursday for the repatriation of the remains of Fouzia Bekouch, killed with three other illegal migrants in the area between the port of Oran and Ain-Turck.
