Bilal Nadir (OM) hospitalized after a fainting spell : the Moroccan is out of danger
Olympique de Marseille (OM) is providing reassuring news about its Moroccan striker Bilal Nadir, who suffered a fainting spell that occurred on Wednesday during the match against SCO d’Angers (2-2).
Bilal Nadir is out of danger. "Olympique de Marseille wishes to provide reassuring news regarding Bilal Nadir, who suffered a fainting spell that occurred yesterday during the match against SCO d’Angers. The player did not lose consciousness at the time of the incident. As soon as he was taken care of by the club’s medical staff and the emergency services present on site, all of his vital signs were found to be normal," reassures the Marseille club in a statement published on its website. It adds: "As a precautionary measure, Bilal Nadir was transferred to the hospital to undergo a complete medical check-up. His health condition is good, and he remains under observation for the continuation of this check-up." OM promises to provide new information depending on the evolution of the situation.
Shortly after coming on the field, Nadir collapsed on the ground in the 86th minute of the 2-2 draw between his club and Angers Sco. Players from both teams quickly surrounded him before he was evacuated on a stretcher. "He lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital for tests. We are all worried, but we hope it’s nothing serious," said coach Roberto De Zerbi at the post-match press conference. His teammate Matt O’Riley added: "It was a shock for everyone to see him on the ground, but he’s doing well and we wish him the best."
