Belgian Authorities Recall Hayatea’s "Herbes du Maroc" Tea Due to Health Concerns

The herbal tea product "Herbes du Maroc" (50 g) of the Hayatea brand has been withdrawn from the shelves in Belgium and customers who have purchased it are asked to return it to the points of sale.
In a press release, the company OMA Trading, distributor of this tea sold since September 2021, indicated that tests carried out on the product revealed the presence of pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
Thus, in agreement with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (AFSCA), the commercial company has decided to withdraw this product from the market. Customers who have purchased this product have been asked not to consume it and to return it to the points of sale for an on-site refund.
