BeIN Sports Commentator Derradji Denies Morocco Entry Ban, Plans to Cover AFCON 2024

The Algerian commentator Hafid Derradji, a well-known figure on the Qatari channel beIN Sports, denied rumors that he was banned from entering Moroccan territory.
In a message posted on social media, Derradji expressed his intention to travel to Morocco to cover the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for next year. "If beIN Sports mandates me to cover the CAN in Morocco, I will not hesitate to do so," he said.
Affirming that he does not harbor any hostile feelings towards Morocco or Moroccans, the Algerian journalist highlighted his long-standing friendships with many Moroccans for the past 30 years. "I have no problem with Morocco or Moroccans."
These statements come in a context of diplomatic tensions between Algeria and Morocco. Derradji has, in the past, drawn criticism from some Moroccans for his partisan comments during the coverage of football matches involving the two national teams. He had also been accused of insulting Moroccan women.
