Banque Populaire Offers 4-Month Loan Payment Deferral for Affected Customers

Banque Populaire is postponing the payment of loans to its customers who have suffered a loss of income for a period of 4 months (from March to June).
According to Banque Populaire, this exceptional measure of deferral without fees concerns people benefiting from FOGARIM loans, as well as those who have lost their activity and are compensated by the Special Fund for the management of the coronavirus pandemic. In this regard, customers with a FOGARIM real estate loan reserved for low-income people will be able to benefit from an automatic deferral, without having to make a request.
As for clients affiliated with the CNSS in a situation of work stoppage and benefiting from the aid of the Special Fund, they can make a request for deferral if necessary. This measure also concerns clients working in the informal sector and compensated by the Special Fund.
Banque Populaire also specifies that any request for deferral addressed to the Bank by other clients benefiting from a loan will be handled in a personalized manner as soon as possible. Therefore, it invites clients to submit their deferral request through the various channels mobilized by the bank for this purpose by calling the Customer Relationship Center at 0522 58 50 66, by filling out the dedicated form on Chaabi Net and by contacting the usual advisor at the branch.
In addition, it encourages its clients to favor remote banking channels and to reserve trips to the branch for emergency situations.
