Bahrain to Open Consulate in Western Sahara, Strengthening Ties with Morocco

After the United Arab Emirates, it is Bahrain’s turn to open a general consulate in Laâyoune. Its inauguration will take place this Monday, December 14, 2020.
Bahraini and Moroccan officials will mark this inauguration ceremony in Laâyoune, the capital of the Moroccan Saharan provinces, reports Le360. A ceremony during which the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, will deliver a speech. He will emphasize the strengthening of lasting bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Morocco and Bahrain.
Bahrain had announced the upcoming opening of a general consulate in Laâyoune during a telephone call between King Mohammed VI and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on November 26 last.
