Bahrain to Open Consulate in Western Sahara, Strengthening Ties with Morocco

King Ben Issa Hamad informed King Mohammed VI, during a telephone conversation on Thursday, November 26, 2020, of his intention to open a Bahraini consulate in Laâyoune, according to a statement from the royal cabinet.
In a few days, Bahrain will open its consulate alongside the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. This call is part of the fraternal relations between the two countries and reflects the fruitful cooperation and solidarity between the two brotherly countries.
This decision illustrates the continued solidarity between the two brotherly countries, as well as the consideration for the constant positions of the Kingdom, underlines King Mohammed VI.
For the King of Bahrain, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries will coordinate to materialize this historic decision. King Ben Issa Hamad also appreciated the operation to secure goods and people in the Guerguerat area, ordered by King Mohammed VI, concludes the same statement.
