Authorities Thwart Real Estate Scam in Moroccan Coastal Town of Harhoura

Thanks to the vigilance of the authorities of the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara, an attempted fraud similar to the real estate spoliation orchestrated by "Bab Darna immobilier" was thwarted.
Without prior authorization, a real estate developer has installed advertising panels, offered unrealistic offers to potential buyers as part of a housing project on land classified as a green area. Worse, he was receiving a good number of clients.
Informed of this illegal activity, the caïd of the second district proceeded to demolish the sales office of fictitious apartments and villas as well as the advertising panels of the real estate developer, reports the daily Al Akhbar.
The report that the caïd sent to the public prosecutor’s office and the provincial authorities specifies that the person concerned violated the provisions of the urban planning law by building temporary marketing structures, without previously having authorization. According to the explanations of Abderrahim Beladoul, president of the municipal council, the real estate developer has not yet filed any request for authorization with his services.
Furthermore, the authorities of the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara and the pacha of Harhoura maintain vigilance, in order to clean up the urban planning sector.
