Australian Ambassador Seeks Solutions for 200+ Nationals Stranded in Morocco

Among the foreigners who find themselves stranded in Morocco since the authorities decided to close the borders, there are Australians. It is therefore to reassure them and show them the proximity of their country, that the ambassador, in a video broadcast on the Facebook page of the Embassy, addressed them.
There are more than 200 Australian nationals currently stranded in Morocco. It is to them that Berenice Owen-Jones, Australia’s ambassador to Morocco, addressed in her video. She reassured them that the embassy is doing everything in its power to help them return to their country. "I would like to reassure you that we are exploring all possible options to make a flight available to you to Australia. We are working on this with other countries and with the Moroccan authorities," said the ambassador.
The possibility of considering "a flight to London and from there to Australia, is under negotiation. But there are no guarantees. I will keep you informed as soon as possible. Owen-Jones also advised her fellow citizens to remain vigilant by respecting the security measures taken by the Moroccan authorities and to stay informed through the embassy’s website in Rabat and possibly through its Facebook page.
