Attention! Morocco is switching back to GMT+1 this Sunday

Morocco is preparing to change its legal time tonight. At two o’clock in the morning this Sunday, the clocks will have to be advanced by sixty minutes to display three o’clock, marking the official return to the GMT+1 time zone.

This overnight switch marks the end of the arrangement put in place for the month of Ramadan. On February 15th, the country had indeed moved its clocks back an hour to temporarily align with the GMT time zone.

The Ministry of Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform had previously announced this change. Moroccans are therefore called upon to make the necessary arrangements for this time shift.

From a regulatory standpoint, this transition is part of the October 2018 decree on legal time. Its strict implementation also stems from an order of the Head of Government published on February 22, 2024.
