Atlas Lions: Hervé Renard reflects on his tenure with emotion

For the French technician, Morocco represented a true professional resurrection after a difficult failure at LOSC Lille, he confides to Jeune Afrique. He says he found in the Kingdom an environment conducive to reconstruction, affirming that he retains "90% of positive things" from this adventure. This passage allowed him to give new impetus to his coaching career, marking a clear break with the difficulties encountered in club football to reconnect with international success.

Renard was keen to salute the groundwork carried out by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). He highlights the role of President Fouzi Lekjaa, elected in 2014, in the modernization of infrastructure and the establishment of a "very professional work environment". According to him, this rigorous management has been the necessary foundation for the development of the current system and the rise of the national team.

On the sporting level, the "White Wizard" proudly claims the return of Morocco to the World Cup in the 2018 edition, ending two decades of absence. He also recalls his role as a builder in the blossoming of the current golden generation, having favored the integration of talents such as Achraf Hakimi and Youssef En-Nesyri. Today, he is delighted to see Morocco among the "ten to fifteen best national teams in the world", considering himself honored to have laid the first stones of this project of excellence.
