AstraZeneca Vaccine Delays Hit Morocco, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia as India Faces Supply Pressure

Morocco, Brazil and Saudi Arabia will receive the next AstraZeneca deliveries late. This announcement was made by the Serum Institute of India (SII), the Indian manufacturer of the British vaccine.
The next delivery of the AstraZeneca vaccine from SII will be delayed, reports Reuters. Currently, India is under fire because its laboratories have offered or sold more doses than the inoculations carried out in the country. India is experiencing a second wave of the epidemic. As of March 21, the Covid-19 report shows 11,603,478 cases of contamination, 11,153,244 recoveries and 159,952 deaths.
The Indian laboratory is working to increase its monthly production to 100 million doses by May, compared to 60 million to 70 million currently. Initially, SII was supposed to sell vaccines only to middle and low-income countries, mainly in Asia and Africa. However, production problems in other AstraZeneca facilities have forced it to also ship to many other countries on behalf of the British company.
To date, Morocco has received 8.5 million doses of vaccines: 7 million doses of the British AstraZeneca vaccine and 1.5 million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.
