The make-up session of the 2020 baccalaureate exams for free candidates, held on July 20 and 21, allowed the national security services to record 17 cases and arrest 26 candidates in the act of cheating.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the searches carried out made it possible to seize "20 mobile phones used in cheating operations or attempts". These cases of cheating were recorded at the level of "the security prefectures of Settat, Rabat, Fez, Marrakech, Laâyoune, Oujda, Meknes, Kenitra, El Jadida, and finally Beni Mellal".
According to the same source, fourteen of the people caught in the act were placed in custody, while the others were subjected to preliminary investigations conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s offices. They could be referred in a state of freedom, or have their files transferred in the form of judicial information, at the end of the investigation procedures.
