Arab League Summit: Morocco’s Foreign Minister Arrives in Algeria for Preparatory Talks

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita traveled to Algeria on Saturday as part of the preparations for the Arab League summit.
At the head of a delegation, Bourita will participate in the work of the ministerial meeting dedicated to the preparation of the Arab summit, scheduled for October 29 and 30.
King Mohammed VI will attend this summit, official Algerian sources had indicated. But for the moment, no Moroccan official source has confirmed or denied this information. The presence of the Moroccan monarch at this major meeting should help reduce tensions with Algeria.
This trip by the minister is a first since the rupture of relations between the two countries in August 2021. Algeria has indeed severed diplomatic relations with Morocco due to "hostile acts" by the kingdom towards it. Despite the outstretched hand of King Mohammed VI, the Algerian regime maintains its position.
