US Approves Advanced Radio Systems for Morocco’s Apache Helicopters

Morocco has received US approval to equip the 24 "AH-64 Apache" helicopters it had ordered from the American manufacturer Boeing.
Far-Maroc, a website specialized in Defense issues, announced that the US Congress has approved the supply of 52 AN/ARC-231 Skyfire radio systems for the AH-64E Apache helicopters, currently under construction in the United States for the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
The ARC-231 Skyfire is a software-defined radio for military aircraft that provides bidirectional voice and data communications in a 30 to 512 MHz frequency range. These radios offer interoperability on the battlefield. They are very useful for AH-64E Apache pilots, as they allow them to maintain the advantage in terms of secure communication, in hostile environments.
In June, the American manufacturer Boeing and Morocco had concluded a contract for the purchase of 24 AH-64 Apache helicopters. It is a model equipped with the latest communication, navigation, sensor and weapon systems, which is currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan on US Army helicopters and on US Navy and Air Force aircraft. The order will be delivered to the FAR starting in 2024.
