US Approves $141 Million Military Command System Sale to Morocco

The Biden administration has approved the potential sale of ground command and control systems and related equipment to Morocco.
According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the sales agreement is valued at $141.1 million. "The State Department has made a decision approving a potential foreign military sale to the Government of Morocco of ground command and control and related equipment for an estimated cost of $141.1 million," the DSCA said. General Atomic Aeronautical Systems, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, as well as Italy’s Leonardo SpA are the main contractors.
This proposed sale "will support U.S. foreign policy and national security by helping to improve the security of a major non-NATO ally that continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in North Africa," the DSCA justifies. And to add: "The proposed sale will enhance Morocco’s ability to address current and future threats by providing timely intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) services and acquiring targets for its security and defense."
