Appeal Trial Begins for Killers of Scandinavian Tourists in Morocco

The case related to the murder of the two Scandinavian tourists is again before the judicial authorities as part of the appeal trial. Indeed, three defendants who confessed to participating in the crime have decided to appeal after being sentenced to death.
They had confessed to having murdered the two Scandinavian tourists in the name of the Islamic State group and had received the maximum sentence from the courts. The appeal trial began on Wednesday, October 9, after the death sentences of the three defendants who admitted their direct involvement in the crime.
But, according to Barlamane.com, there is little chance that the verdict will change due to the "overwhelming evidence against the prosecution".
Indeed, on July 18, the three men were tried for "forming a gang with a view to committing terrorist acts", acts for which the legislator has provided for very severe penalties.
About two weeks before the murder, the trio had posted a video of allegiance to the Islamic State group on images that went viral on social media. The terrorist group, for its part, never claimed responsibility for the murder.
