US Apache Helicopters Debut at African Lion 2022 Military Exercise in Morocco

The Moroccan-American military exercise African Lion 2022 began in Morocco on Monday, June 20 and will continue until July 1, 2022 in Kenitra, Agadir, Taroudant, Tan Tan and Mahbès. It will involve Moroccan pilots who will train on Apache helicopters.
According to explanations from Lieutenant Colonel Jaime Thomas, the participation of these helicopters in African Lion 2022 would be, among other things, to "demonstrate their capabilities before their delivery to Morocco," reports the website of the UTAH National Guard. In September 2021, elements of the FAR (Royal Armed Forces) went to the United States where they learned, for the very first time, to pilot an Apache combat helicopter through the simulation system of the Utah National Guard.
A contract had been concluded in June 2020 between the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the American manufacturer Boeing for the acquisition of 24 AH-64 Apache helicopters. The delivery of the aircraft is scheduled by 2024.
