US and Moroccan Navies Conduct Joint Training Exercise off North African Coast

The Royal Moroccan Navy frigate Mohammed V trained alongside the USS Hershel ’Woody’ Williams off the Atlantic coast of Morocco on September 15.
This exercise aims to strengthen the capabilities of the partners and upgrade units of the Royal Moroccan Navy in order to be able to track and intercept ships in the country’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), reports the America’s Navy website.
"We are thrilled to train alongside our Moroccan counterparts off the coast of North Africa," said Captain David Gray, commanding officer of the Hershel "Woody" Williams, Blue Team. "This allows us to hone our skills and build a stronger partnership," he is convinced.
The exercise also focused on simulated man overboard scenarios and communication links between the two ships and an MH-60S helicopter assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 28.
