Amsterdam School Accused of Discrimination After Rejecting Moroccan Child’s Enrollment

A mother of Moroccan origin said she was "shocked" by the discriminatory attitude of the administration of a school in Amsterdam. The case has caused an uproar among members of the pro-Islam and pro-immigration party Denk, who deplored this rise of racism in the country.
A Moroccan woman living in Amsterdam had sent an electronic registration request to a school on the west side of the city last week. But she was surprised by the negative response from the school, due to lack of space.
Intrigued, she resubmitted the same request but under a Dutch name. This time, and to her great disappointment, her request was favorably received by the establishment. But when she followed up with the management under her real name, her request was again refused.
Shocked, the mother decided to publish her misadventure on Facebook, denouncing the xenophobic attitude of the school authorities. "I’m shocked... I would have liked to be wrong about them," she added.
