American Drug Mule Dies in Casablanca Hospital After Airport Arrest

An American citizen of Lebanese origin, involved in the trafficking of cocaine capsules in his intestines, died on Thursday at the University Hospital of Casablanca.
After suspecting him of transporting drug capsules in his intestines, the national security services at Mohammed V International Airport intercepted this 66-year-old individual upon his arrival on a flight from São Paulo airport in Brazil, and bound for Cairo International Airport, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The accused was placed under medical supervision at the hospital, after suffering a malaise at the airport. Following a medical intervention, 68 cocaine capsules, weighing an estimated 795 grams, were extracted from the defendant’s intestines, before he died.
For the purposes of the investigation, the deceased’s body was transferred to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
