US Ambassador Pledges to Boost Economic and Educational Ties with Morocco

The United States wants to strengthen its relations with Morocco and promote economic, commercial and educational exchanges, among others, announced on Thursday the US ambassador to Rabat, David Fischer.
During a meeting with the President of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, at the Moroccan Parliament, the American diplomat recalled the historic diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and the United States. According to David Fischer, Morocco was the first country to recognize the independence of the United States of America.
The American diplomat said he was determined to focus, in the context of his duties, on issues related in particular to youth, education and cultural activities, according to a statement from the House of Representatives.
As for the President of the House of Representatives, he highlighted the excellent relations between Morocco and the United States at all levels, particularly political, economic, diplomatic and cultural, recalling the free trade agreement between the two countries.
El Maliki also called for the consolidation of cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries. He did not fail to point out the role that parliamentary diplomacy can play in opening up new horizons and raising bilateral relations to an exceptional level.
