US Ambassador to Morocco David Fischer to Step Down Ahead of Biden Transition

David Fischer, US Ambassador to Rabat, will be leaving his post on January 19, 2021. The new appointments of the Biden administration require it.
In the run-up to the inauguration ceremony to be held on January 20, the newly elected President of the United States, Joe Biden, is making some appointments. The diplomatic corps abroad is also affected. Thus, a new diplomat has been appointed to replace David Fischer, who had taken up his duties in January 2020. Arrived in Morocco on January 21, 2020, the diplomat is called upon to leave his post on January 19 next.
The ambassador and his wife Jennifer Fischer "are deeply saddened to be leaving Morocco, a country to which they have become attached," a source close to the American diplomat told Atlasinfo. "On January 19, they will not be going very far. They will be returning to Morocco. Mr. Fischer has been seduced by Dakhla and his wife loves Marrakech very much," added the same source.
