Alleged Antwerp Drug Baron Evades Extradition After Buying Moroccan Citizenship

While he has just been released by Morocco in a case concerning him, Mohamed Reda C, considered one of the drug barons in Antwerp, has just been convicted by the Belgian justice system. The conditions of his release remain unclear.

The man nicknamed "the Algerian" was recently sentenced to six years in prison for having ordered an attack against a docker. The court therefore ordered his immediate arrest, reports Belga, adding that he is the subject of a European arrest warrant.

The man had been arrested last July in Casablanca and incarcerated in Morocco, and the Belgian justice system was awaiting his extradition. But this operation will ultimately not take place, indicates the same source, which points out that the Belgian justice system was informed of the release of Mohamed R. C., but not of the motivations of the court.

Mohamed Reda C, whose name has appeared in numerous investigations since the Sky ECC operation, would have managed to obtain Moroccan nationality at the last moment, for a huge sum of money. An astronomical amount of 2.5 million euros is mentioned.
