The Algerian television boycotts Morocco's matches

A few days before the kick-off of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian public television has unveiled its broadcast schedule. While EPTV has acquired the rights to fifteen matches, the Moroccan national team, the host country, does not seem to be part of the schedule, victim of the diplomatic tensions between the two neighbors.

The announcement was made this Wednesday, December 17: the Public Television Establishment (EPTV) has officially acquired the broadcasting rights for 15 matches of the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from December 21 to January 18 in Morocco. These matches, which include the most important clashes, will be broadcast on the terrestrial channel, only received on Algerian territory.

In its press release, the public media specifies that this coverage will concern the matches of the Algerian national team as well as those of the "brother selections". A formulation which, given the execrable relations between Algiers and Rabat, de facto excludes the Kingdom from the list of broadcasts, although it is the host country of the tournament.

On the sporting level, the Fennecs will play in group E. Their journey will begin on Wednesday, December 24 against Sudan, followed by a confrontation with Burkina Faso on Sunday, December 28, and will end against Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday, December 31. These matches will be accessible on ENTV as well as on BeIN Sports 1.
