Algerian Students Stranded at Casablanca Airport as Repatriation Efforts Stall

Turned away from Canada for non-compliance with entry conditions, 12 Algerian students have been stranded since January 11 at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca. Latest news, the Algerian authorities have opposed their repatriation by the Royal Air Maroc company.
Stranded at Casablanca airport since their deportation, these students must still face daily life while waiting to join their loved ones. Without housing, food or even a change of clothes, they are squatting the benches of terminal 3 of Casablanca airport, reports Algérie Part, citing a source close to Royal Air Maroc.
The same source specifies that the national airline is taking care of their daily meals but cannot repatriate them to the country. The exceptional authorization requested by RAM to take care of this repatriation operation to Algiers has not been validated to date. Algeria has categorically opposed this request from the national carrier.
Worse, the Algerian airline has also not been authorized to charter a special plane to repatriate these students. "RAM brings meals and food to these students on a daily basis. But unfortunately, we can’t do anything more to relieve the suffering of these students. It is now up to the Algerian authorities to take care of them," adds the same source.
