Algerian Singer Faudel Faces Alimony Case in Moroccan Court

Accused by his Franco-Algerian ex-wife of refusing to pay her alimony, the Algerian artist naturalized Moroccan Faudel will have to appear shortly before the court of first instance of Marrakech.
The French justice system has already sentenced Faudel to pay alimony arrears to his ex-wife. To make this decision enforceable in Morocco, the latter, through her lawyer, has initiated proceedings before the court of first instance of Marrakech, the city where the singer resides with his children and his new partner.
The singer’s ex-wife filed a complaint against him with the King’s Prosecutor, which led to the opening of a preliminary investigation targeting Faudel. After the investigations carried out by the judicial police of the ochre city, the Algerian artist naturalized Moroccan is being prosecuted while at liberty. The ex-wife’s lawyer has proceeded with a protective seizure of the singer’s villa.
