Algerian President Rejects Border Reopening with Morocco, Demands Apology

The two neighboring peoples must still be patient. The Moroccan-Algerian borders will remain closed for a long time to come, according to the statements of the new Algerian president.
During a meeting with the press, Abdelmadjid Tebboune put an end to any hope of rapprochement between the two countries, by firing on the kingdom. For him, Morocco has taken possession of the Sahara and shared the "spoils" with Mauritania.
The opening of the borders is not on the agenda, according to the president, who maintains that Morocco must first apologize to the Algerian people for having undermined its dignity.
Given these statements, the website Akhbarona believes that a reaction from Moroccan diplomacy is becoming urgent, in order to protect the interests of the country and its dignity, which is supposed to remain above all other considerations.
