Algerian President Calls for Sahrawi Self-Determination, Announces Major Political Reforms

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has reaffirmed his country’s position on the Sahara. He maintains that the "Sahrawis have the right to self-determination".
In a speech to the nation, the Algerian Head of State announced several decisions: dissolution of Parliament, early legislative elections, cabinet reshuffle and presidential pardon for nearly a hundred people arrested as part of the Algerian Hirak.
During this intervention, Abdelmadjid Tebboune reiterated his country’s position on the Sahara. "For the cause of Western Sahara, our position is clear. It is the last colony in Africa. Our Sahrawi brothers have the right to self-determination. There is no other solution," he hammered.
