New Algerian Ambassador Meets Moroccan Officials, Highlighting Shared Ties

The new Algerian ambassador to Morocco, Abdelhamid Abdaoui, was received this Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives, as part of a courtesy visit after taking up his post.
During this session, the President of the House of Representatives said that what unites Morocco and Algeria is greater than what divides them. According to El Malki, the factors of unity between the two countries are very strong and multiple, due to history, shared memory, language, religion, culture and geography.
The President also stressed that the globalization that characterizes today’s world requires countries to unite within the framework of territorial and regional groupings, while noting that the peoples of the region ardently wish to build the Greater Maghreb Union and strengthen the ties of cooperation and solidarity between their countries.
Following El Maliki, the Ambassador of the Algerian Republic to the Kingdom stressed the importance of dialogue between the two countries, particularly at the parliamentary level, in order to enhance what unites the two countries and converge their points of view. "There is an economic complementarity between the two countries, and there are many things that unite us... Dialogue is very important, and we must work together to build the Greater Maghreb," he said.
