Algeria Warns Morocco: Western Border is ’Red Line’ Amid Rising Tensions

In this context of renewed tensions between the Polisario and Morocco, Algeria, the ally of the separatist movement, it seems, warns the kingdom that its borders are "a red line".
"The national borders of Algeria, particularly in the West, Southwest and Southeast, are a red line. [...] Maintaining vigilance at its highest level is a sacred duty to protect Algeria," said General Said Changriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP) in a report focused on a presentation by the Ministry of National Defense.
This report was broadcast on the country’s public television following the launch of a military operation by the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in the buffer zone of Guerguerat to secure the flow of goods and people. An operation that routed the Polisario militiamen. By declaring that its borders are a red line, is Algeria issuing a warning to Morocco? This seems likely. Especially since this country feels threatened after the resurgence of tensions between the Polisario and the kingdom.
During a recent seminar on "the role of the national media in strengthening the internal front and facing hostile plans targeting Algeria," General Chengriha also called for the federation and the pooling of efforts of Algerians, institutions, including the national media, to counter the threats and dangers that loom over the country.
