Algeria Severs Diplomatic Ties with Morocco Amid Terrorism Accusations

What was only a rumor a few days ago is now a reality. Algeria has just announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Morocco.
"Algeria has decided to break off its diplomatic relations with Morocco as of today," Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra said at a press conference in Algiers.
Last week, the High Security Council (HCS), during a meeting chaired by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, accused the Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylia (MAK) and the Rachad movement, classified as "terrorist organizations" and considered to be protected by Morocco and Israel, of being responsible for the deadly fires that killed more than 90 people.
"Morocco’s bellicose acts towards Algeria require a reconsideration of relations between the two countries and the strengthening of surveillance on the western borders of the country," a statement from the Presidency of the Republic said.
