Algeria to Repatriate 40 Detained Moroccan Migrants Across Closed Border

The Algerian authorities decided on Wednesday, in coordination with the Moroccan authorities, to proceed with the repatriation of 40 young Moroccan migrants detained in Algeria, via the border post "Zouj Bghal".
The Association for Assistance to Migrants in Difficult Situations based in Oujda is working to complete the administrative, judicial and consular formalities in Algeria so that the 40 young Moroccans can be repatriated to Morocco, via the land border crossing of Zouj Bghal, reports Al Omk.
The Association says it has expressed in a letter addressed to the Algerian authorities its concern about the detention, in Algerian prisons and on the basis of false accusations, of hundreds of young Moroccans, candidates for immigration. The association has in particular asked the Algerian ministries of the Interior, Health, Justice, the Prison Directorate and the Red Crescent "to put an end to human trafficking, immigration and other illegal activities of which young people are victims, regardless of their nationality, their country, their color, their religion or their race".
The association claims to be "very concerned about the situation of hundreds of young people in Algeria, detained in several prisons and centers (El Harrach, Remchi, Oran, Tebessa, Tlemcen, Misserghin, Chlef...), as well as that of their families who continue to call for the release of their sons and daughters", calling for their release "in the name of international, humanitarian law, brotherhood, good neighborliness, and the ties that bind the two brotherly peoples".
