Algeria’s President Tebboune Praises Morocco’s Role in Independence Struggle

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune salutes the role played by Morocco in the Algerian struggle for the liberation of the country.
In a message read on his behalf by the Minister of Mujahideen on the occasion of the anniversary of the holding of the Soummam Congress and that of the offensive in the Constantine region, the Algerian president expressed his gratitude to Morocco, whose support for the liberation of the country has given a Maghreb dimension to the war of national liberation.
"If the first event (the offensive in the Constantine region, editor’s note) sealed the fusion between the mujahideen and the people, up to victory, and gave their struggle a Maghreb dimension, dictated by the duty of solidarity with the brotherly Moroccan people, who demanded the return from exile of the king Mohammed V, the second (the Soummam Congress, in this case) consolidated this historical achievement through a better organization of the armed struggle, which gave a new impetus to the ALN to achieve the objective of independence and the recovery of national sovereignty," he said.
