Algeria Deploys ’Electronic Army’ in Social Media War Against Morocco

Algeria is waging an electronic war against Morocco "its enemy it sees everywhere" by deploying an army of "electronic flies" that swarm social networks with the mission of drowning their users in fake news.
Algeria seeks to harm Morocco. To achieve its ends, it deploys an army of electronic flies to flood social networks with false information about the kingdom in order to influence national and international public opinion and make people believe that "the enemy it sees everywhere" is a poor country on the brink of the abyss, reports Assahifa, adding that officers affiliated with the Directorate of Documentation and External Security have been specially trained to carry out these attacks. These officers would have benefited from colossal means to recruit influencers, journalists and administrators of popular pages on social networks, Algerians or of other Arab nationalities, in order to guide public opinion.
These "electronic flies" use Moroccan names and nicknames to give credibility to their fake news, the magazine reports, specifying that this electronic war "has really gained momentum in 2020, after the events of El Guergarate, a year after the takeover of Saïd Chengriha, the successor of Ahmed Gaïd Salah. Among the Fake News, the posts (images and videos) posted on the sidelines of the events in Fnideq with the caption "Moroccans fleeing the country en masse" and the "fall" of the kingdom has begun. The current Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP) would be the instigator of this cyberwar.
