Algeria Concerned as Mali Trains Drone Pilots in Morocco

The intensive training received by Malian soldiers in charge of piloting Malian armed drones in Morocco is causing concern in Algeria.
After the video broadcast by the Malian channel ORTM1 on 165 Malian soldiers who received training within the 2nd Parachute Infantry Brigade of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), including parachuting and air landing exercises, a second wave, composed of 500 additional soldiers, should undergo training in Moroccan training centers. Among them, those in charge of piloting the Malian armed drones. Their training would worry Algeria.
According to the Elkhabar website, there is a risk that these drones will intrude into Algerian territory or be used for purposes other than those officially announced by the Malian authorities. "Algeria cannot remain passive in the face of the intrusion of foreign armed drones into its airspace, even by a single meter, without them being immediately and completely neutralized by the specialized units of the People’s National Army," the publication estimates.
The author of the article goes so far as to attribute intentions to Morocco: "Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that Morocco and the Zionist entity use the Malian drones for espionage, intelligence gathering or even military operations. This constitutes a direct threat to Algerian national security, which requires a firm and immediate reaction."
