Monday 30 August 2021, by Ginette

Algeria will face Djibouti on Thursday, September 2 in Blida (8pm), and Burkina Faso on Tuesday, September 7 in Marrakech (Morocco). On the sidelines of these two matches, the Algerian national football team began its training camp this Monday.

The training camp will be carried out according to a well-established program by the technical staff and published on the official website of the Algerian Football Federation. All 25 players summoned by coach Djamel Belmadi will be present at the training camp starting this Monday at the National Technical Center (CTN). Earlier in the morning, the coach was facing the press at the Omar Kezzal auditorium in Sidi Moussa, to explain the choice of the 25 players summoned.

The players will train until Wednesday, the eve of the first match. The match will be held behind closed doors, as the FAF was unable to obtain authorization from CAF to allow the public to have access to the Mustapha Tchaker stadium. A request rejected by the African Confederation and which remains valid for all the matches of the first day.

After Djibouti, captain Ryad Mahrez and his teammates will be in Morocco on September 6 to play the second day’s match against Burkina Faso, scheduled for Tuesday, September 7 (8pm) at the Grand Stade de Marrakech. The match will indeed take place in Morocco, despite the breakdown of relations between the kingdom and Algeria.
