Air Senegal Resumes Dakar-Barcelona Flights with Casablanca Stopover

The airline Air Senegal relaunched, on Tuesday, February 16, Dakar-Barcelona via Casablanca, two destinations that had been suspended in the meantime due to the health crisis related to the coronavirus. In total, three flights will be operated per week.

Since Tuesday, Air Senegal offers three flights per week between its base in Dakar-Blaise Diagne and Barcelona-El Prat airport, operated on Airbus A319 aircraft that can accommodate 12 passengers in Business class and 108 in Economy, reports Air journal. Departures are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 00:50 to arrive at 4:20 in Casablanca-Mohammed V, then at 8:20 in Spain after a one-hour stopover, it is specified. As for the return flights, they leave Catalonia at 9:45 and the Moroccan city at 15:15.

"Air Senegal has chosen to experiment with this new route by configuring it in this way to support the relaunch of tourism through this significant tourist niche. With flight days and schedules adapted to the needs of travelers, this link will strengthen and facilitate the connection between Southern Europe, a major source market for tourists, and Dakar, with Casablanca, also a renowned tourist destination," explained Ibrahima Kane, CEO of Air Senegal. The new line "also makes it possible to bring the large Senegalese diaspora in Spain closer to the country of origin by facilitating their contribution to the development of Senegal," he added.
